Parade of Witness' 31st May 2010

Lining up at the front of Chesterfield Town Hall for what is normally the commencement of the bands new season of activities with a membership turn out of 25 on a bright sunny Bank Holiday Monday morning.

With this being World Cup Football year the organisers had decided to use this as the theme for this years event ‘Our Goal’ and the band chose to highlight this by starting the parade off in rousing fashion with their own rendition of an earlier World Cup theme son ‘Carnival de Paris’ which went down well and for the duration of the parade other suitable tunes depicting the football theme were played en-route.

After a brisk pace the end was soon in site as the band led the parade back to the Town Hall to take the accolades from the new Mayor of Chesterfield on the Town Hall steps before concluding.

Once dismissed the band members made their way into Shentalls Gardens for the usual seasonal publicity photographs and then departing in their cars to Wirksworth village to watch the first contest of 2010 under the auspice of the newly formed Marching Display Band Association (MDBA), whom the Musketeers will be competing alongside in a few weeks time.
