Taking up their position at the forefront of the parade the Phoenix Musketeers Showband of Chesterfield & Eastwood contemplated a very warm march ahead on a sunny and humid morning. At the completion of the open air service of prayer
and hymns the moment came for the newly inaugurated Mayor and Mayoress
to commence down Rose Hill and into Knifesmithgate closely followed
by the band in their colourful blue and white uniform playing the old
‘Drifter’ number ‘There Goes My First Love’ with the church tableaux
and congregations winding along in between them. |

Whilst the Churchgoers concluded their service, the band members formulated themselves on Shentalls Gardens for the usual early seasons publicity photographs for the various websites and organisations around the UK and with a very lengthy season ahead there will be plenty more taken during the year.
