Wainsgrove Carnival 13th September 2009

The band were making their second visit to this show having attended in my absence through holidays in 2008, this year having been collected from the airport on my return and driven to this years show although having missed Saturdays turnout at ‘the Hollingwood’.

All ready and waiting to commence the short parade up the hill from the Community Centre back to the school field at the top before making one circuit of the arena to open the show.

With a further arena display scheduled for later in the afternoon the social committee worked hard in between helping to raise the extra funds for our overseas account with Tom, Sylvia, Ann, Henry, Beth all being ably supported by organiser Natalie for the second day running. With a large crowd gathering around the site expectations were high.

At 3:15 the Musketeers were prepared to take to the arena with the penultimate display of the season on this slightly bumpy surface.

Once again resounding applause at the conclusion for a very good show on the uneven ground but very much appreciated.

After selling out all the prizes on the Tombola stall and showing bumper rewards the members helped wrap away the gazebo for the second day before everyone headed off down Wainsgrove Road to ‘Mamma’ Twiggs home for afternoon tea again on the patio followed by a spontaneous musical programme on the lawn afterwards, then after saying our thanks everyone left for home.
