| For the first time in using DW Coaches, a lady driver was at the wheel much to our surprise. Arriving at the venue with time to spare, the members made their way up the steep cobbled street to the Masons Arms, a little pub situated half way up the very steep hill. Did I mention it was a steep hill. Anyway they members quickly got a round or two of drinks inside them to get in the mood for the downhill parade. With Mark G in good voice, Kelly seemed to be the target for his questioning and amusement during the inquisition Session in the tap room, much to Kelly’s relief Janice became a side order in the Great Inquisition. The time was quickly absorbed and the members trooped back to the coach to prepare for the usual parade to the ground alongside the “Swizzles” Sweet factory. |

| However on this occasion very little was collected due to the company withdrawing their float this year, although at the end of the parade a bin liner full of sweets and lollies was left at the coach for all participants. These were for use on our tombola stall over the next couple of weeks. Before the display was aired for the first time this season, the members got out their refreshments, but in the warmth of the coach interior, on this bitterly cold day. Will, was the nominated cameraman for the day and took his position very serious. All the snaps were quickly taken inside the field before scuttling back to the safety of the ropes. Battling against a small cramped arena the display was aptly presented to an enthusiastic crowd before returning to the coach to change out of uniform. After a brief tour of the amenities on the field the band opted for an early departure with Sunday’s venue at the Hasland Carnival on their minds. |
