Grindleford 21st June 2008

After tempting fate writing about the weather last week being kind to the band so far this season, the 'Musketeers' finally succumbed to a wet drizzly day at Grindleford Carnival.

Just a short parade up the road from the venue and back leading the fancy dress contestants, it was hardly long enough to test Trevs 'dodgy knees' or get wet.

Once back to the park the 'Musketeers' were called straight into the arena on the billiard table lookalike ground, which the members themselves had re - shaped and sized earlier on arrival.

With all the community turning out to support the event the band presented their intricate display routine for the first time at this carnival. With each movement being warmly received, the band concluded their performance in the persistent light drizzle.

With only the white plumes looking slightly bedraggled at the conclusion, everyone was soon out of the damp uniform in readiness for home and next weeks full programme of activity.
