Chapel-en-le-Frith 14th June 2008

A full weekend contemplated, commencing with the Chapel-en-le-Frith Carnival Parade. On the coach this week by way of fundraising a "Bingo" session had been arranged. Once commenced the game then deteriorated into something of a farce, as the callers board was up tipped scattering the balls across the floor towards the coach door. Eventually, normality was restored to enable Julie (assisting the caller) to call out "BINGO" Thank God!!, But this did put paid to the requested game on our return.

Great Escape

After changing into our uniforms under an ominous sky the band were informed that they had been requested to lead the parade. Setting off at a very fast pace down the main road behind the local dignitary, continuing at this pace up the hill and beyond, still entertaining with our set pieces along the way. Stopping on the half way corner, the band entertained the residents at the road side care centre with their rendition of Robbie Williams "Angels" and the Drumline. Before completing the rest of the route to the carnival field.

Half way round - Playing for the Nursing Home

Time was then enjoyed partaking of the field layout before heading back home on the coach.
