Warsop Carnival 18th July 2011
Arriving
at the Carrs Showground bright and early on what was turning out to
be another hot sunny day, in individual cars plus Mark at the wheel
of his hired mini bus. After gaining entry following an over ambitious
gate marshalls involvement... Everybody soon hastened across the field
to indulge in a variety of fried breakfast cobs on offer from the nearest
catering van. Suitably fed the members proceeded to change into uniform
before being transported to the 'Sparrow' pub in the mini coach, driven
this time by Marks mother Madeline for the start of the parade which
the 'Musketeers' were scheduled to lead, back towards the Carrs Showground
past the growing crowd lining the roadside, before disbanding on the
field for a brief interval proceeding the arena display programme. With a fast growing crowd entering the showground the 'Musketeers' proceeded to entertain with their new programme which was warmly received throughout thev twenty minutes. Once concluded, the members were free to change out of uniform and avail themselves of the vast amount of activities provided across the large area, including a very big fairground, many other attractions inside the arena and not forgetting the licenced bar area bordering the large stage accomodating the group musical programmes throughout the afternoon. With all the weekends activities and committments now concluded the members left at their own leisure for the return trip home. |
