By request the Band were booked to perform at one if not the most prestigous Manor Houses on the Island. Along with Guest of the day Bands & Carnival Director, from the Battle of Flowers, Margaret Fitzgerald we headed off to St Ouen Manor in preparation for the Opening Ceremony at 12 noon.
Arriving a little later than planned due to the coach being late the band quickly changed in what can be described as the oldest but quaintest roundhouse tower we've ever seen. The Room would have not been out of place in either Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit film but nevertheless beautiful.
Bang on cue the Band left the perfect surroundings of the Tower nestled in the corner of the Secret Garden and entered the gravel pathway leading up to the front doors of the 950 year old Manor House. After a couple of tunes and a quick lap of the Garden green the band halted just in time for the Grand Opening by the Delegates from St Ouen & Sark.
The Band stood at ease to listen to the Grand Opening Speech which re-lived the 450 year history and details of the committment and dedication that was undertaken by everyone involved. Once the Ceremony was over they set off to complete another couple of laps of the green before retiring for the Lunch provided by the estate. This was eaten in the beautiful sunshine inside the walled garden amongst the perfect flower beds outside the Marquee used for Weddings and Expensive Functions.

Through the afternoon the members spent their time with their guest, Margaret, chatting and laughing as well as relaxing and enjoying the many attractions from Stalls and Refrshments to Zorbs and Donkey Races
Another fantastic day was had by everyone involved and yet another Happy Memory of our time in Jersey.
